Housing and Planning

The survey revealed that only a minority of residents would prefer no further housing development at all but most people would be content to see no more than the occasional single new dwelling or conversion of existing buildings such as barns.  Retaining the character of existing property was considered important and the local style, i.e. ‘cob and thatch’ is much preferred.

The need for low cost or affordable housing is recognised as it would help to bring in young families.  However, the style and quality of such developments would need to be an improvement on recently built examples elsewhere in the area.
