The Issues
  • Litter
  • Management of hedges
  • Landscape character
  • Protection of Devon banks
  • Speeding traffic
  • Low flying aircraft
  • Road surfaces
  • Wind farms and bio-mass plant
  • footpath maps

There is widespread concern that the character of the parish landscape should be preserved and that litter in the countryside needs to be dealt with.  Roadside verges and hedge banks must not be eroded.  Hedges must be managed to protect wildlife.  Road surfaces need constant attention but the speed of vehicles is a particular worry.  The presence of low flying aircraft across the parish is difficult to tolerate.  Wind farms are a growing concern.

Parish residents are exceptionally good in using recycling services provided by the Borough Council and only 11% of residents never use them.  The provision of a rubbish skip would be welcomed by many
